Instructions for Examinees

  1. Examinees must bring an ID that includes a photo of them to the exam room.
  2. You are to take the exam in the exam room to which you were assigned. All exam placements are specified on the STUDENTS website.
  3. You must follow the exam proctors’ instructions, remain quiet and behave in an orderly fashion as to avoid disrupting other examinees. The exam proctors are authorized, at their discretion, to move examinees from one location to another at any time.
  4. Entering the exam room and receiving the exam is considered to be participation in the exam.
  5. You may only start an exam within the first 30 minutes after its start time. After 30 minutes have passed from the start of the exam, entry into the exam room and participation in the exam will not be possible.
  6. You must take the exam independently. 
  7. You will only be permitted to leave the exam room to use the restroom, in accordance with the instructions presented in the following table:

1.5 HoursNo restroom breaks.
Two HoursRestroom breaks permitted only after 45 minutes and within a half-hour time frame (i.e., between 45 minutes – 75 minutes after exam start time). There will be no restroom breaks permitted during the last 45 minutes of the exam.
3 HoursRestroom breaks permitted only after one hour, during the second hour of the exam. There will be no restroom breaks permitted during the last hour of the exam.
Time extension (when total time is over 3 hours) Restroom breaks permitted only after one hour, during the second hour of the exam and up to one hour before the end of the exam. There will be no restroom breaks permitted during the last hour of the exam.

Leaving the exam room for any other reason is prohibited. Only in exceptional cases, the exam proctor may permit an examinee to leave the room, but no earlier than 60 minutes after the start of the exam. 

 

  1. Smoking is prohibited in the entire building, including the exam room.  
  1. Violating any of the exam regulations will result in a Disciplinary Tribunal hearing.  
  1. Please note: 
  1. Unless explicit permission has been granted, the use of any outside material in the exam room constitutes a disciplinary offense. 
  1. Having any electronic devices near the student – particularly, cell phones, smartwatches and headphones – is strictly prohibited, unless explicit permission has been granted for the use of headphones. All electronics must be turned off and placed in your bag.
