Table of Channels for Academic Excellence During the Semester:

Section 3.1.4 – Regulation – Academic Excellence (from the catalogue)

1. The study tracks will be periodically divided into groups by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies in consultation with the Academic Unit Heads, which, for the purposes of this section, will be referred to as “study channels”. The list of study channels will be published on the Undergraduate Studies website.
2. Prior to the President’s Award for Excellence Ceremony that takes place each semester, the Dean of Undergraduate Studies will determine and publish the numerical thresholds for the President’s and Dean’s Award for Excellence for each study channel. These thresholds will be based on grades earned in the previous semester. For each study channel, up to 3% of students will receive the President’s Award for Excellence, and up to 15% will receive the Dean’s Award for Excellence (including students who receive the President’s Award). These awards will be granted provided that numerical thresholds do not fall below 91 (President’s Award) and 84 (Dean’s Award).
3. To be eligible for the President’s Award for Excellence students must accumulate a minimum of 18 credit points within the semester’s program of study and maintain a cumulative average grade of 91 or higher, provided that this average does not fall below the specified threshold, as per subsection B above. To be eligible for the Dean’s Award for Excellence students must accumulate a minimum of 18 credit points within the semester’s program of study and maintain a cumulative average grade of 84 or higher, provided that this average does not fall below the specified threshold, as per subsection B above.
